From "work", aka the night I went to La Peña del Colorado for a little concert with the kiddies.

In 6 Days ...

I am running a 10K race.

If I make it across the finish line, I'm going to the Four Seasons to get a massage.
Does it count if I finish in less than 12 hours ?

Anyway. Life is good. Had a great weekend. Finally used my heat even though I'm still irrationally afraid of it.

Rediscovered the crossword book my Dad gave me and have been dominating them for the past 3 days.

Zippy, the dearly loved and incredibly loyal Volvo S40, is on her way to Swedish heaven. Lots of IKEA furniture and meatballs will be waiting for her. RIP Zip.

My feet have been cold for the past 3 weeks. I wonder if this is due to poor circulation or just normal cold weather. Hmmmm ...

Anyway, nothing else exciting. It's cold and I have to go to the gym tonight. I hope that miracles will happen and I will be able to run 10k in less than 1 hour.

CONGELADAAAAAA

It's so miserably damp and cold right now that I have had 2 pairs of socks on my feet for the last 3 days and I still can't feel my toes.

I also wanted to murder everyone on the colectivo today. Why must everyone be on their cell phone at the same time, telling some dumb story in a voice that is much too loud for being in an enclosed space ? Also, I really don't appreciate having to listen to some inane conversation between 2 dumb argie women who both have horrible mullets and braces. No one cares how many sit-ups you did at the gym, and no one wants to look at the poor orthodontic work going on in your mouth. Also, is it a part of being 85 years old or is just coincidence that every old woman whacked me with her bag on her way off the bus ? Just checking.

It's snowing in every part of Argentina, minus Buenos Aires. I am gladdened by that fact. No snow for me, unless I'm going skiing ( aka falling down a mountain ). I am ready for Spring. Only 6 more weeks and it will be warm again !! Hooray.

I got another haircut today. It was a blessing, that little trip to Cerini. Last time I went I was there a total of 90 minutes ( 10 of those minutes were spent actually getting said hair cut ), because no one knew how to pronounce my name and therefore left me to the wolves, aka, the waiting area, to read and re-read the magazine Para Ti until the pages wore thin. That was fun. Not. This time I was in and out in half an hour. Why, you ask ?

Because I told them my name was Pilar.
Success !!

I am now officially Pilar. Woooo. Anyway, small victory for Paige today.

That's really it. I have a new addiction to fuschia and coral Gerbera daisies. I have made some lovely little arrangements to spruce up my apartment. I also am now into clusters of antiquey looking roses and covering every table surface in sight with them. It's fine.

Anyway, off to watch Seinfeld and make tomato soup. I lead a very gripping life.

Buenos Aires: City of Genius Ideas

Like the choice placements for WiFi hot spots. Buenos Aires is always on the cutting edge of technology and is able to offer its inhabitants and visitors easy access to wireless internet, no matter where they are !!

Some of my favorite places, chosen for their high degree of usefulness:

1. the Subte. Because who wouldn't want to bring their laptop on the train with them, open it up in the middle of a packed car, and check their emails during rush hour? Or just hang out underground for a while, on the station platform, chatting with friends and updating their Facebook profile?
2. Megatlón Gym. One of the best ways to make the time fly when you're on the treadmill is by bringing your computer with you to work out! You will stave off boredom, remain connected at all times, and clearly, look cool.
3. Rapsodia in Alto Palermo. The next time I decide to go shopping, I think I'll invite my closest friends or study buddies with me. That way we can camp out, get some work done, and shop for overpriced jeans ... all at the same time !

My thoughts exactly.
