I am aliveeeee

Wow, more than a month has passed. Sorry about that. Here are some random photos to make up for my little disappearing act. All but the adorable dachsunds (French!) are snapshots from life recently. Enjoy!

Even though things have been going really well - it's been a great week, lots of good work things going on, etc - I am in zero mood to write anything right now. Maybe it's because I have discovered the most random channel that plays old episodes of Dawson's Creek, Coach, 90210, and a ton of other 90s shows that are too amazing for words. (Side note: I think I only know about Coach because my parents watched it? Whatever. I'll watch it)

Last night I went to this cool event for the opening of a new boutique hotel called Mio Buenos Aires. It was too chic for words. The bathtubs are all carved out of one piece of TREE. Not wood, like huge giant tree trunk things. They're stunning. I wanted to live in it. As part of the press kit we were given a bottle of DV Catena wine, some gourmet olive oils, and a little macaron trio. Done and done. Next time we take a staycation I know where I'll be checking in ...

My hot pepper plant has so many little baby peppers! I love watching them pop up. Two of them are giant fellas. I hope they keep sprouting before winter comes. My dream is to have so many peppers I don't even know what to do with them!

I know my life isn't boring but it feels like it is right now. So I'm going to go head back to the couch, eat some Frutigran cookies (the greatest things on earth) and take a catnap before tutoring this afternoon.

Rooftop Garden

I LOVE my rooftop terrace/garden/place where I shamelessly tan on hot January days. Today I moved some of the trees around to satisfy my need to change things on a constant basis without actually having to make a trip to Jumbo and spending more money than I should. My succulents are literally insane. I think they're on growth hormone. I feel like I'm a little tropical oasis when I look at them. I have to post pictures, I know, because clearly my verbal description skills aren't quite up to snuff.


I have a miniature cactus family here inside the living room but I really dream of making the smaller patio off the dressing room into a wannabe desert (see above for obvious pipe dream). Not sure why, but I think it would make me feel like I'm in Arizona. I haven't even been to Arizona. Whatever.



I also want to have a gigantic philodendron. Now it's not like we have a lush backyard garden with an infinity plunge pool (which is how I envision my life with my newly acquired philodendron), but I still think it would add some nice visual interest to our urban abode and make me feel fabulous. Plants tend to have that effect on me. Don't judge.

Quick update:

came home to a house full of flowers - tuberose, a new orchid, some new exotic houseplant, my thriving hot pepper plant. it felt good.

unpacked quickly and painlessly. inspired to do spring cleaning and make some more space in my closet.

burning feu de bois because it soothes my soul. i need more!

i have a twitter account now. i'm frightened and obsessed at the same time.

going to bengal for our anniversary dinner (YAY!)

i'm so glad it's a 4 day weekend .. gives me time to settle back in and re-assess my life (which is kind of a joke at this point)

the wedding is just 2+ months away! i am so beyond elated.

there is no better feeling than when your eyes meet across the airport, you drop your bags and run like a crazy person into the arms of the one you love the most.

Happy Plant

Josey fills me in on how my plant friends are doing. This one is 1/2 in the sun and 1/2 in the shade. I feel bad for the neglected shady side, so he turned it around for me. Hopefully when I'm back the entire little pot will be bursting with new greens!

Pray for the Putaparió

This is my hot pepper plant. In my absence (and Jose's who was gone for 3 days after I left Buenos Aires), it has suffered greatly. Our cleaning lady Sonia peaced out and didn't tell us so my poor little spicy piglet looked like THAT when José got back from his trip. I hope it makes a full recovery!
